KIN UPDATE JULY 2024

WINTER UPDATE

So far this year Kids in Need Waikato have put together 806 care packs (as at end of June 2024).

As we head into the coldest part of winter, demand for warm clothes, jackets and extra bedding increases. We receive referrals from agencies all over the Waikato and continue to be proactive in providing ongoing support to the caregivers and tamariki in our system.

We are grateful for the ongoing support from our wonderful community of supporters, funders and sponsors as well as new connections we make when we are out and about.

SHARE THE LOVE CAMPAIGN

In May we held our Share the Love campaign. An opportunity for the community to help us raise funds towards care packs by sponsoring a care pack or part of a care pack. You helped us raise $18,550 - which sponsored 92 care packs! THANK YOU!

We have been so blown away by the feedback that we now have the option to SPONSOR A CARE PACK available on our website all year round!

CAMBRIDGE REAL ESTATE - PJ DRIVE

Once again we were blown away by the wonderful support from Cambridge Real Estate and the community. In early May our team picked up 400 pairs of cosy winter PJs - which was a huge boost to our stock levels. Cambridge Real Estate donated a pair of PJs for every second pair donated.

THANK YOU so much for your fantastic support!

LIMITED EDITION PIES - OUT NOW!

Thanks to Oxford Pies and Stu & Camille from The Breeze Waikato - 2 new limited edition pies are in store from TODAY and they are aiming to raise $10,000 for Kids in Need! We are so grateful for their support.

Head to their online store to order NOW!

MID-WINTER CHRISTMAS

KIN are fortunate to have a group of over 30 volunteers who gift their time to the charity, including Founders Linda and Graeme Roil. Each year we hold a mid-winter Christmas lunch during National Volunteers Week which also coincides with Matariki. A perfect opportunity to thank everyone for their contribution to KIN and enjoy a meal together.

SPECIAL FEEDBACK

“I would like to say thank you for the winter clothing pack I received from your organisation last week. I have recently been gifted my 12 year old grandson to raise and your pack came through via GRG. I am extremely grateful and thankful.
